More astounding stuff from the annual BIS report... In the first 100 pages, the entire report is dedicated to explaining how fragile the current monetary system is due to excessive debt and loose central bank monetary policies. The second section is titled, "Monetary and Fiscal Policy: Safeguarding Stability and Trust." It goes into detail about the risks of society losing trust in the State and central banks due to high inflation and increased financial instability caused by their fiscal and monetary policies. The next section is titled, "Blueprint for the Future Monetary System." It begins by stating that "crypto is a flawed system that cannot take on the mantle of the future of money." It then goes on to say that crypto [Bitcoin] can't be the future of the monetary system because it lacks the trust provided by central banks. "The collapse of crypto and the faltering progress of other tokenisation projects underline a key lesson. The success of tokenisation rests on the foundation of trust provided by central bank money and its capacity to knit together key elements of the financial system. This capacity derives from the central bank’s role at the core of the monetary system." So the BIS spends the first 100 pages of the report explaining how trust in central banks and governments is eroding due to their irresponsible policies, and then spends the next 30 pages explaining why these same institutions should be put in charge to run a new global "unified ledger" because of the trust they provide. It's completely delusional. I'll choose #Bitcoin.
