A short history of how we got here, because the chronology is the whole story. January: the Pentagon demands unrestricted use of Claude for autonomous weapons and domestic surveillance. Anthropic says no. February: the President orders every federal agency to drop Anthropic. The Defense Secretary bans Pentagon contractors from doing business with them. A rival announces its classified-network deal within hours. March: the Pentagon designates an American company a "supply chain risk" under a statute written for foreign adversaries. A federal judge blocks it. May: the Pentagon signs AI deals with seven companies. Anthropic is not one of them. June 9: Anthropic releases Fable 5. June 12: Commerce issues an export control directive over a jailbreak that, by the government's own account, was demonstrated verbally, came with no written explanation, and involves a capability you can get from other publicly available models today. Two things are true at once. First: Anthropic spent months marketing Mythos as too dangerous to release. Sam Altman said it was "incredible marketing to say we have built a bomb." The Commerce Department has now formally agreed it is a bomb. If you describe your product as a munition in every press release, eventually a government takes you at your word. They wrote the legal predicate themselves and called it a brand. Second: we have run this experiment before. In the 90s the government classified encryption as a munition under ITAR. Activists defeated it by printing PGP's source code as a book, because books are protected speech and floppy disks were arms exports. A t-shirt with three lines of RSA Perl was legally a munition. The controls collapsed because math does not stop at customs. The new wrinkle is the "deemed export" rule: showing controlled technology to a foreign national inside the US counts as exporting it abroad. Which is why Anthropic's own foreign-national employees are now locked out of the model they built. The munition is in the building and the people who made it are not allowed to look at it. The jailbreak is the paperwork. The refusal was in January.

Harvard Business Review research reveals that excessive interaction with AI is causing a specific type of mental exhaustion ( or "AI brain fry"), which is particularly hitting high performers who use AI to push past their normal limits. A survey of 1,500 workers reveals that AI is intensifying workloads rather than reducing them, leading to a new form of mental fog. While AI is generally supposed to lighten the load, it often forces users into constant task-switching and intense oversight that actually clutters the mind. This mental static happens because you aren't just doing your job anymore; you are managing multiple digital agents and double-checking their work, which creates a massive cognitive burden. The study found that 14% of full-time workers already feel this fog, with the highest impact seen in technical fields like software development, IT, and finance. High oversight is the biggest culprit, as supervising multiple AI outputs leads to a 12% increase in mental fatigue and a 33% jump in decision fatigue. This isn't just a personal health issue; it directly impacts companies because exhausted employees are 10% more likely to quit. For massive firms worth many B, this decision paralysis can lead to millions of dollars in lost value due to poor choices or total inaction. Gobierno aprobó operación de drones para entrega de insumos médicos en todo el territorio nacional El Poder Ejecutivo formalizó la autorización definitiva para que la empresa uruguaya DRONFIES LABS SAS realice servicios de transporte aéreo público no regular de carga pura mediante drones, destinados exclusivamente a la entrega de insumos médicos en zonas urbanas y rurales de Uruguay. Laresolución conjunta de los ministerios de Defensa Nacional, Economía y Finanzas, y Transporte y Obras Públicas, fechada el 16 de abril de 2026, aprueba las Resoluciones dictadas por la Dirección Nacional de Aviación Civil e Infraestructura Aeronáutica (DINACIA). Estas normativas habilitan de manera operativa el uso de dispositivos aéreos tripulados a distancia de categoría menor para este fin específico. La empresa ya había obtenido en abril de 2023 la autorización inicial para realizar pruebas de transporte de carga con drones. Ladecisión del Ejecutivo se basa en informes técnicos favorables de las direcciones de Transporte Aéreo Comercial, Seguridad Operacional, Planeamiento, Registro Nacional de Aeronaves y Asesoría Letrada de la DINACIA, así como en la recomendación positiva de la Junta Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil. La operación autorizada permite a DRONFIES LABS SAS realizar vuelos de drones para transportar insumos médicos por rutas previamente aprobadas, tanto en áreas urbanas como rurales. Se trata de la primera experiencia de este tipo a nivel nacional en el marco de un servicio público no regular de carga aérea con vehículos aéreos no tripulados.

Token limits are the silent benchmark killer. Going from 2K to 16K max tokens changed EVERY model ranking. If you're benchmarking local LLMs, don't cap at 2K. @AMD @AMDRyzen @MichaelGannotti (try Fedora)

i can't believe more people aren't talking about this part of the claude code leak there's a hidden feature in the source code called KAIROS, and it basically shows you anthropic's endgame KAIROS is an always-on, *proactive* Claude that does things without you asking it to. it
