On Tuesday, a committee of five Colorado State Senators will vote on whether or not to move forward one of the most sweeping gun bans this nation has ever seen. They will be asked if our state legislature, made up of 100 of our fellow citizens, should pass SB25-003, enacting a law that would prohibit the sale, purchase, transfer, and manufacture of all semi-automatic rifles and shotguns that accept detachable magazines, along with gas operated semi-auto pistols that can accept a detachable magazine. Simply a blanket ban. Although every death is tragic, the firearms they are attempting to ban are statistically very, very rarely used in murders (see here: wethesecondcolorado.com/fbi-stats-expo…) But they are right, we do have a problem. It's just not from those guns. The graph attached here shows that the problem has only become much worse since they started passing their "common sense gun control". In 5 years, the Democrats under the Gold Dome in Denver have passed 20 gun control laws. And in those same 5 years, the problem they are trying to solve has reached levels that surpasses the 1993 "Summer of Violence".
