From Dusseldorf to Munich. After the Uganda-Germany Tourism Roadshow in Dusseldorf, we landed in Munich for the Uganda Cultural and Tourism Festival, organized by @TourismBoardUg in partnership with the @UGEmbassyBerlin , @MTWAUganda, and @UgandaMFA. If Dusseldorf was about the business of tourism, Munich was about its soul. There is something different about watching people experience Uganda through rhythm, color, and taste rather than through a brochure or a sales pitch. Dance that tells a story before a single word is spoken. Music that pulls strangers into a shared moment. Food that turns curiosity into genuine interest. These are introductions. For many in that room, it was their first real encounter with Uganda beyond a map or a headline. This is the other half of tourism marketing that does not always get attention. Roadshows convince the trade. Cultural festivals win the public. Both are necessary. Neither works alone. #ExploreUganda

Into the wild we go… 🦍 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest awaits 🌳🌏

This week I was in Düsseldorf, presenting Destination Uganda at the Uganda-Germany Tourism Roadshow, organized by the @TourismBoardUg partnership's with @UGEmbassyBerlin , @UgandaMFA and other partners. A lot of people think roadshows are just about putting up banners and handing out brochures. They are not. Tourism is not sold at the airport. It is sold months, sometimes years earlier, in a conversation between a tour operator and a client. In a travel agent deciding which safari to package. In a journalist who visited and came back with a story worth telling. In an investor who saw an opportunity and decided to move. Germany is one of Europe's most important outbound markets and German travelers seek authentic experiences, nature, sustainability, adventure, and culture. That is the Uganda product described almost exactly. So we do not come to Düsseldorf to talk at people. We come to build relationships with the professionals who influence what travelers choose, and to give them every reason to choose Uganda. The work continues. #ExploreUganda

Midsummer's Day ☀️🌸🌼🌿🔥🌿🌌💃🍻🎵 Midsummer is the 24th day of the Estonian calendar, which is one of the June holidays of the holy year for Estonians. It follows Midsummer Eve and Midsummer Night and is associated with the celebration of the peak of summer, light, nature and old folk customs. Midsummer is a national holiday in Estonia and an important time for many people to spend time with family, friends and community. Midsummer has its roots in the distant past. Originally, it was a celebration of the summer solstice, which later became intertwined with Christian tradition and was associated with John the Baptist. This is where the holiday got its name. Today, Midsummer is primarily a national and cultural holiday, centered on enjoying summer and preserving traditions. Midsummer often continues the celebrations that began the previous evening. Many people spend the day in nature, in country houses or at public Midsummer parties. Common activities include barbecuing, games, singing, dancing and various folk activities. In many parts of Estonia, events, fairs and concerts are also held on the occasion of Midsummer. In folk tradition, Midsummer and this regular Midsummer night were considered a time of special power. It was believed that nature was at its most powerful then and that various plants and springs had healing properties. There are also stories about searching for a fern flower, which was supposed to bloom only on Midsummer night and bring luck and wealth to the finder. After the days gradually shorten during the summer solstice, the whitest nights of the year remain around Midsummer. It is this special light, warmth and summer mood that makes Midsummer one of the most beloved holidays in Estonia. Today, Midsummer combines both ancient folk customs and modern traditions. It is a time when summer is celebrated, the value of togetherness is appreciated and the most beautiful time of Estonian nature is enjoyed.

Uganda has taken its tourism campaign to Paris with three branded buses touring the city's busiest routes until July 8, 2026. Launched near the Eiffel Tower, the "Explore Uganda – The Pearl of Africa" campaign targets residents, travelers, and tourism professionals. Ambassador Doreen Ruth Amule noted this is the first mobile outdoor campaign of its kind for the Embassy. Buses feature QR codes for easy access to travel info. #ExploreUganda
