Gotta hand it to @valvesoftware - they may have fumbled with the launch of the @Steam Controller (and some would argue the #Steam Machine!)… But their shipping is bull$h!t compared to in the past. My wife and I received our Steam Controllers in just two days!

@VXerikos @Drum2dbeatz @Pirat_Nation @GOGcom gives you offline installers... So even if they were to disappear tomorrow, you'd *still* have access to "your" #games *as long as you've saved the installers offline*. That's the beauty of #GOG.

@Drum2dbeatz @Pirat_Nation @Steam *have* removed #games from the libraries of #gamers in the past... But it's exceptionally rare, as I understand it. Their default stance is that the #game stays in your library even after it's removed from the store.

@SeraphimTyrant @Pirat_Nation @Steam is still my go-to, because it works more seamlessly with my #Steam Deck (and presumably the Steam Machine / Steam Frame, when I eventually get my hands on them)... But if a game is also available on @GOGcom, I usually buy a second copy there, too.

@Pirat_Nation I can vouch for this - I have in my library *at least* one or two #games that have long since been removed from the @GOGcom catalog. @Steam is still my go-to because it works more seamlessly with my #Steam Deck; but I buy a second copy of games on #GOG if they have the game too.

@WksMeka Fortnite won't come to #Linux until *at least* after @TimSweeneyEpic has left the company... Easy Anti-Cheat (which what #Fortnite uses) *natively* supports Linux, but Tim Sweeney is openly anti-Linux.

@RaySeymourJr @wccftech Won't happen. Easy Anti-Cheat (which is what Fortnite uses) *natively* supports #Linux... But @TimSweeneyEpic is infamously and openly anti-Linux. Until he leaves the company - and who knows when that will be - we'll never see #Fortnite on Linux.

On top of that, we know from "traditional" consoles (i.e. those from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo) that kernel-level anti-cheat isn't needed (they usually use user-level anti-cheat).

@KingVulpes105 @SftwrMnsch @wccftech Correct. Easy Anti-Cheat *natively* supports Linux, not to mention the fact that consoles usually use user-level anti-cheat (rather than kernel-level anti-cheat)... Fortnite's lack of availability on Linux is nothing more than a personal vendetta against Linux.

@Pyro5151 @pebtrocious @Windows Mate, I have a whole house full of weird and wacky stuff, and the few things that don’t “just work” under a modern, mainstream Linux distro take very little effort to get running. A lot of it I don’t even need Terminal for (though I personally prefer it, because it’s faster).

@RealBSP3 @wabithecursed @pebtrocious That’s an unrealistic claim. There’s only two or three “base” distros, and the most distros are just based on two, which covers most users. If they were to target just Debian / Ubuntu and Arch-based distros, it would cover most Linux operating systems used by Everyday Users.
