@sam_vandersluis * Don’t worry too much about what a part sounds like soloed. Something that sounds weird/thin when soloed might sound perfect in the context of your mix. The goal is that it sounds great in context, not that it sounds great soloed. Use solo for editing parts, not for mixing!

@sam_vandersluis * Pay lots of attention to correct gain structure _before_ adding effects (especially compression or maximizers). You generally want a pretty stable volume per track before you get fancy - automate gain on individual clips/parts as necessary to get a “stable fader” before mixing.
