Anthropic pls stop shooting yourselves in the foot by asking for models to be regulated by politicians who don’t know how to use them. Just compete by building better models and give them to corps to defend & patch themselves against attackers. If you’re worried about misuse, create some simple KYC/ auth layer that will protect you against lawsuits that follow. Everyone just wants access to the best models. Fear doomerism is just going to cause Chinese opensource models to get more & more popular when instances like Fable 5 and gpt 5.6 can get taken down overnight. Corps need a reliable tech stack they can build on top of and if the only means to have that is open-source/weight we will go there. It’s better for everyone if that model is American. I promise you Zai, Deepseek, and Moonshot are not going to be slowing down.

Although I’m a huge fan of anthropic, Fable 5 is not a hands free one shot god tier engineer like everyone on X claims it is. All of the demos that are showcased by AI labs and the X community are mainly people one shotting games, apps, websites, marketing pipelines, decks, etc. Seemingly powerful and really impressive, but they are simply impressive because they will only ever exist as internal demos. Even if you can get from 0-90 in one prompt, getting something production ready from 90-100 is significantly harder and will likely take hundreds or thousands of prompts and face hundreds of regressions. You need to actually hone in on the nuances and details that matter in the UIUX, latency, architecture, data security, provider handshakes, service availability, CI/CD pipeline, sales, marketing, legal, etc. Otherwise no one will use your product. No one is going to play your one shotted Minecraft game. No one is going to use your one shotted website.
