Finally made the move to Forgejo and off github & gitea. Set up a runner and it kept getting stuck in a half-dead state. It showed online/idle but wouldn’t pick up jobs. Only a full container restart would temporarily fix it. Claude Opus: Set up a cronjob to restart the container every 2 minutes. 🙈 The actual problem was the registration method. Forgejo 15 changed how runners connect. Had to delete the old runner and re-onboard it, this time through the web UI with the new config format. 🤦‍♂️

Building runners and IaC one day and the next day the whole platform is spaghetti built on deprecated instructions and build patterns with random IAM provisioning and absolutely wild configs. I'm sure we'll all go back and fix it later. I keep hoping it'll get better but

I asked Claude Design to draw a rose and it drew this abomination, with an entire app to tweak it, something I didn't want nor request. Grok Imagine drew about 150 different roses until my credits ran out. Gemini 🍌 did one at a time. Guess I'll stick with Inkscape.

@NathanMcNulty Agree. The front end of ransomware 10 years ago was a big driver for change. I think we're in the same boat here. AI exhilaration overtook security fatigue in business and some short term pain is going to happen regardless of this pause.

Absolutely destroyed the openwebui setup due to some obscure kea dhcp bug. Kept digging into the host and container. Nope. Took the opportunity to refresh the containers and decouple ollama and whisper. Cleaner build. So dumb. @pfsense When a Kea pool or scope changes, the existing lease database can end up holding content that no longer lines up with the pool, and Kea then refuses to allocate from that subnet even though the pool looks empty and open. redmine.pfsense.org/issues/15735
