@RJHenderson7 Forcing “defensive structure” killed them last year. Was better when they abandoned it for simpler “punt and hunt” style. This D is not good enough to be more advanced. Boudreau knows it but is being forced to employ structure even though mgmt didn’t give him the pieces he needs

@tommykippes2 @Canucks Wouldn’t have to if no OEL contract. You’d take Miller over OEL 10/10 times. But OEL is what we’ll be getting. Unfortunate. We almost had nice things

I know the team would have been terrible this year without them and it would have been boring and frustrating to watch yet more drafting/developing/losing. But it was just the wrong time in your cycle to cap yourself out.

We were finally going to crawl back into some cap space to improve the team but JB knew he wouldn’t be around to enjoy it. That deal cemented the Benning footprint assuring no cap space for a long time
