Guggenheim upgrades $NOW to Buy from Neutral, PT $125. Analyst: Upgrading NOW to Buy from Neutral; current levels offer an attractive opportunity for investors to purchase a profitable stock likely to grow at double digits organically. NOW is a well-run company, though AI pressure is real. We previously upgraded from Sell to Neutral in December, and that call played out; one should not overstay a Sell rating in Software. Since then, much of our thesis materialized. Following our upgrade to Neutral, NOW shares declined 35% versus IGV down 16% and S&P up 10%, as investors sold software over fears of an AI-driven “SaaSpocalypse.” We see opportunity at current valuations. NOW continues leveraging M&A (e.g., Armis) to sustain growth, but has not yet shown tangible AI monetization evidence, on which future plans depend. We clarify we are not upgrading based on NOW as an AI beneficiary, contrary to the narrative of some peers. We believe AI monetization is unlikely and poses significant risks, though AI will not be NOW’s death knell. Other thematic risks remain relevant: long-term target risk, talent loss to AI natives, and continued M&A reliance. We upgrade shares to Buy from Neutral with a $125 price target, implying 7.5x EV/NTM Recurring Revenue, a premium to SaaS peers.
