@osasinrobotics The short was actually from the display itself, not the mcu... I just checked it one more time...
Omo, I need to get a lense...my eyes are disappointing 🥲
I don't know why I keep making the same mistake. 🫠
I hope this is the last time.
This was my first time working with that particular MCU, and I went straight into soldering it...
Forgetting to first try it out on a breadboard and properly understand its pin arrangement and functions.
I thought because I've worked with something very, very similar before, it would apparently be the same thing.
Omo...
It cost me almost 4 days of debugging. 😭
Sha, NEPA did what they know how to do best... especially when you need them the most. 😂
So, I finally got another unit of the same MCU and decided to test everything on a breadboard first.
And guess what?
Everything worked.
Even single thing.
And this is exactly why I keep saying:
Don't skip the breadboard stage, especially when you're working with a new component.
Even if you've worked with something similar.
Even if you think you already understand how it works.
Even if you're in a hurry.
Take the extra time to test it first.
Because sometimes, that small step can save you days of debugging.
So, who can guess what actually happened?
Or maybe God was teaching me a lesson 🤔
Can someone tell me why an engineer can build a perfectly working product and still fail?
It's because engineering a product and building a product are not the same thing.
Let me explain.
Imagine I build a device.
Everything works exactly as I designed it.
But then I discover that the device costs ₦150,000 to build, while the people I designed it for can only afford ₦30,000.
Did I build a bad device?
Technically, maybe not.
But did I build a good product?
No.
This is where product thinking comes in.
As engineers, we naturally think about:
"How do I make this work?"
Product thinking adds another layer:
"How do I make this work for the person who needs it?"
That means thinking about things like:
Cost.
User experience.
Reliability.
Manufacturing.
Maintenance.
Availability of components.
Scalability.
And most importantly...
What value does this actually provide?
This is why I believe engineers should learn product thinking.
Because the goal isn't just to build something that works on your workbench.
The goal is to build something that can survive outside your workbench.
And that's a completely different challenge.
What other things do you think engineers should consider when turning a prototype into a real product?

Yup
In as much as hardware is a growing field in Nigeria, guys that have entered should never settle for less 🙅♂️
As a matter of fact, I don't see it as a waste of time remaining on one thing for a long time and not delving in deep. Electronics is a very deep field (from my end) and DIY is just less than a scratch.
Finally helped these children submit their IEEE Arduino Contest project. They went through hell. 🫠
This was their first practical STEM engagement... I'm bringing #SDG4 and #SDG9 to life.
I think there should be more things like this going on in Nigeria.
Their project wasn't perfect, but they got the experience. And now, they were able to be more prepared than before.
For real, it gave up on them, but they forced me to believe in them. Fortunately for them, we got the news that the initial deadline was extended.
I love their resilience. ❤️
Somehow, I just wish I could have what I need to reach some of these kids... The future of Nigeria is with them, and STEM is a pathway to quality education.
Let's push STEM.
Let's get to quality education.
Let's support innovation.
Let's impact Nigeria.
I might not have everything it takes, but with what I have, I can help move this forward practically, with or without profit.
Our knowledge mustn't die with us.
Mastery is gained when you give out knowledge.
Let's push STEM education. Let's impact Nigeria.
