new research! we analyzed 146 million SERPs and 86 keyword categories to discover what triggers AI Overviews to appear: - 44.1% of all Medical YMYL queries trigger an AIO! 🏥 (in fact, AI Overviews are MORE common for YMYL queries than non-YMYL queries) - AIOs appear on 9.5% of 1-word queries, climbing to 46.4% of all 7+ word queries ✍ (the longer the query, the greater the chance an AIO will trigger) - AIOs are virtually non-existent for NSFW queries (4%) 🤬 , Shopping queries (3.2%) 🛍️ , News queries (0.07%) 🗞️ , and Local queries (7.9%) 🗺️ - AIOs appear for 57.9% of all Question queries ❓ AI Overviews appear for 21% of keywords. but looking at specific keyword categories, some categories have as high as a 60% chance of triggering an AI Overview, and others as low as 1%! if you want to understand how AI Overviews impact your business and target keywords, check out the full research: ahrefs.com/blog/ai-overvi…
