@yes_i_do_pixels The control of colours to achieve this lighting effect is amazing. Loving the nostalgic interior and the forget-me-nots.

@ajgenerated I love this art so much. It's so rare for me to find pixel art that is aesthetically pleasing, retro and abstract, in a way that makes my mind click back into the same mode as when I was a kid. The abstraction has the potential to make it scarier than any level of realism.

@umbohr_ @HarveyDentMD @Helm_ll Btw, I had a chance to teach kids about chinese philosophy this week, using a power point with my pixel art of chinese philosophers. No one fell asleep. I was pretty chuffed with myself. Some of them already knew about pixel art, so maybe there's hope after all.

@umbohr_ @HarveyDentMD @Helm_ll Thanks for asking - my kid is doing great! But at 1,5 years old, he's not great at entertaining himself, so he's pretty much demanding all of our attention as long as he's awake. Which leaves little time for art. How are you doing? I see you're killing it with painting on insta.

@HarveyDentMD @umbohr_ @Helm_ll Absolutely. And I would say it's made worse by educators who think that the next generation can just learn it by themselves (digitally). Btw, if I never said it, thanks a lot for making that last ditch effort with me to see if a forum could work again. Really appreciate it.

@HarveyDentMD @umbohr_ @Helm_ll You know, I resisted the temptation of posting Tool's Schism lyrics, but you're really making it hard. I totally agree with you. We need to... ahem... rediscover communication 🎶 Learning the value of cooperation and common learning in real life, bottom-up communities is vital.

@HarveyDentMD @umbohr_ @Helm_ll I don't have any hope for generation x, y or z. But I hope and think that my son's generation will have the wisdom to see the value of participating actively in small, cooperative communities. Or maybe they'll be enslaved by AI and totally lose their humanity. It's a coin toss :)

@HarveyDentMD @umbohr_ @Helm_ll A sad but very useful exercise. I'm not frustrated anymore, I just accept nothing can be done. It's not just that everyone got older and have less time, it's not just social media, it's not just communities disappearing from across the internet as a whole, it's everything at once

@the08games Beautiful. My favorite portraits are ones that both make the pixel geometry stand out and somehow blend in too. It's magical.

@Helm_ll I'm really glad he posted it, because it shows the disconnect between techbro artists and people like his brother, Jazza. They're living in different universes.

@alexriesart not matter to everyone, but it will matter to someone. And the more thought and emotion that goes into it, the more valuable it becomes. And hopefully, the increased supply of thoughtless art will encourage more artists to make their art more profound and thoughtful. (3/3)

@alexriesart appreciates the thought that goes into art and thinks deeply about the message or the intent. AI art is going to get better and better, but it's ultimately a message from no one. There's no point in wondering about the thought behind details, because there is none. That may (2/?)
