(2) research her siblings see here. you may find more detailed information on male siblings 3) check different variations of her last name- mcann, mccain for instance. (4) see if you can find out if she had a middle name. (5) check family bibles and oral history from elders. Generally Black American history is closely intwined with whites in the south. Violence it must stop. Has it become the norm to teach our kid's to use violence at the first sign of a civil disagreement? I hope not. Here's a 20 year school psychologist's take on what is happening. We see in the news about Renee Good, Alex Pretti, WV National Guard Sarah Beckstrom and the countless others who have died either because they were so angry about a cause that the risked their life for it. Or in the line of duty someone was so 'angry' about a mission that they were ordered to fill and they were killed. When will the violence stop? It starts when we become aware of our anger and we take the necessary steps to heal ourselves. So that our anger doesn't become a tool for others to weld in darkness. So that we don't put ourselves in harm's way or we don't inflict violence on innocent people who are just doing their job and become prey to 'angry people' because of an 'internal conflict' going around in their head. I am reminded of fierce dogs. The theory goes that they will use so many different avoidance behaviors to avoid conflict. Why? Because to use that fierceness they have within can risk serious debilitating injury and death. I thought we can do better. Be better.
