Built a fun feedback loop while working on my AI gateway (Gantry). Fable spins up an Opencode session that uses Gantry to build a feature. Gantry is an OpenRouter-powered AI gateway that: • routes requests based on task complexity, • keeps sessions pinned to warm prompt caches, • uses cheaper models by default and escalates only when needed, • tracks the actual cost of every request. Once the feature is done, Fable checks the total cost and reviews the PR. Then I tweak the routing strategy and run it again. Trying to find the cheapest routing policy that still produces code I'd happily merge. What a time to be alive.
