Day 2 Extension: 8 Ways to Generate & Structure Data in NumPy This study was all about moving away from manual lists and learning to instantiate data structures programmatically: 1️⃣ np.arange() - Highly customizable sequence ranges. 2️⃣ np.linspace() - Perfectly even intervals (crucial for charting). 3️⃣ np.zeros() / np.ones() - Lightning-fast structure placeholders. 4️⃣ np.full() - Populates an array filled with a specific value. 5️⃣ np.eye() - Generates an Identity Matrix instantly. 6️⃣ np.random.rand() - Random numbers from a uniform distribution. 7️⃣ np.random.randint() - Clean arrays of randomized integers. 8️⃣ .astype() - Manual memory control and type casting (float32 vs float64). Inspection & Reshaping: Using .shape, .ndim, and .dtype to inspect data, plus rewriting structures with .reshape(). 2. Matrix Arithmetic: Element-wise addition and multiplication (A + B and A * B) without nested loops. 3. Array Filtering: The elegance of boolean masking (arr[arr > 2]) to instantly filter data fields. Why loop through lists to update data when you can vectorize it? Instead of writing for n in numbers: new_numbers.append(n + 5), NumPy lets me just do arr + 5. Fast, clean, and handles multidimensional data like a breeze. Leveling up one array at a time. #DataScience #Python #BuildInPublic
