@RetroTechChris Hard drives are usually rated for a non-operating 1ms shock of 150-300Gs, so there’s a chance the drives might still work from the driver dropping them at the door… I’d be more concerned about the sustained shock load of two drives bumping up against each other the whole way.

@SheppaDean @RetroTechChris Yes, usually just a small dab of solder on one or both sides, as you don’t want to risk overheating the actual crystal oscillator inside. But the solder is not always needed.
