To the resilient people of Venezuela, My heart breaks as I watch the devastating news from your beautiful country. The powerful earthquakes that struck yesterday of such immense force, with countless lives taken far too soon. Venezuela has faced so many challenges with incredible strength and dignity. Your spirit, and your unbreakable sense of community have always shone through, even in the hardest of times. Today, that same resilience will carry you forward as rescuers work tirelessly, neighbors help neighbors, and the world watches with heavy hearts. The road to healing will be long, but you have the world’s attention and support. Aid is mobilizing, offers of help are coming in, and people everywhere are standing with you.
