Oops. Just caught the end of what is probably my favourite WW2 film: The Battle of Britain (1969). I fear I'll soon be receiving a knock on the door from Prevent for far-right tendencies. Not because I was rooting for the Nazis, but because, as it does every time I see it, it once again engendered a certain pride in our Greatest Generation and a terrible sadness at the state of our modern political class and institutions.

In yet another Orwellian move, the Government announced in a green paper this week that it wants to decide what news people can and cannot see, with plans to push approved outlets to the top of social media feeds. Ministers should not be deciding which news sources the public read — especially in an era when three-quarters of under-25s say they get their news from social media. As written in The Times, “In a state-sponsored ­regime in which inconvenient news was pushed out of view, would the grooming gangs scandal or the excesses of transgender ideology ever have come to light? You shouldn’t choose to trust ­everything you read online; but you shouldn’t trust the state to make the choice for you, either”. This is dystopian. Read more below in @thetimes 👇

To you, the notion that your insane leftist fellow travellers have captured the institutions is conspiracy… until someone reviews what your buddies' views really are. Again, the socialists on the other side of the Iron Curtain viewed their wall as an "Anti-fascist Protection Rampart" (clearly accurate leftist terminology and not in the least hyperbolic - or hyperbollox) rather than a barrier to prevent citizens from escaping the wonders of socialism and rather forcing them to embrace these wonders and make merry… under pain of death.

Is it because very many white people would like to see them executed in an especially slow and unpleasant way, if they had the opportunity, and have said so openly rather than pretend that this didn't happen? Is it because their relatives haven't actively covered for them? Is it because there aren't thousands of similar people asphyxiating babies with their body parts around the country, and assisted by authorities? Is it because the authorities weren't complicit in their crimes by covering them up in the name of perpetuating the "diversity is a strength" myth and out of fear of being called "gayist"? Is it because the perpetrators are native to the domestic culture so already our problem rather than an additional one we've imported from places where sexual deviancy and backward attitudes to outgroups is apparently a cultural norm? Is it because thousands upon thousands of people with the same moral code haven't been imported en masse over the last few decades, against the explicitly stated will of the majority of the domestic population and to its net financial cost. Is it because many expect that a rather unpleasant fate will await these monsters when the opportunity arises? Maybe that's why there aren't any protests or riots. But there's a hell of a lot of anger towards them from among those who share their race and culture, and this has been very vocally expressed. It's also noteworthy that there aren't many journalists going out of their way to act as apologists on their behalf. Maybe that's the difference.

Multiple other EU member states you could choose to move to (assuming you have something worthwhile to offer) and yet here you are, still whining ten years on about the biggest exercise in democracy in our nation's history. It must be eating away at you and genuinely doing your mental health great harm. Seriously, in your shoes I would have long gone to my EUtopia across the Channel. There are so many lovely places you could make your home there and live under the glorious edicts of your supranational heroes. People with nothing manage to cross thousands of miles and board a dinghy to get to the UK. You don't even have to do that. You just need marketable skills and ideally some language skills, although there's always Ireland if you can't manage that.

Was the scaffolder a law-enforcement officers, an executor of state violence, who had been compelled by official policy to prioritise those from a minority group of people over the majority of people, based merely on immutable characteristics, but who should have had a duty of care to protect life over the hurt feelings of an established liar who abused these very misguided policies to deflect from their murder of the alleged suspect? That's a "suspect" who died being read his rights, while the state greeted his assertions that he had been stabbed with a dismissive "I don't think you have, mate", rather than establish whether such a serious claim was perhaps more serious than the alleged hurty words. Or is this the biggest non sequitur I can ever remember encountering? Ahh… ex Guardian. Now it makes sense.

If you think anything you celebrate as "diverse" or prefix "multi-" can exist without creating the literal divisions this describes, you're a bit simple. If you don't want division, you should strive for homogeneity. Don't pursue policies which wilfully manufacture divisions in society and then gormlessly feign surprise at these divisions when they inevitably surface.

Not only are you sufficiently low information about a poorly implemented EU system that you think it fit to blame the UK for this system, but you also appear to believe that the UK economy is fairing worse than the EU, but most bizarrely that we also left the continent of Europe. It's only confused types who wrap their identity in a supranational organisation who feel they have lost their European identity. I'm still culturally European, as indeed Britain has been for centuries. Lesson - Don't listen to numpties.

Your best argument for the EU is the death of people who have decades of experience and their replacement by a generation who, raised on a diet of leftist nuttery, are apparently the most predisposed to vote for the bizarre and world-ignorant values of the Greens? Well, that figures. Anything but a coherent argument over the facts, eh?

Are the jury blind?

There's an ethicity and a civic nationality. The two are different. One can have English nationality with a non-English ethnicity. One can be ethnically English with a different nationality. Where we draw the bounds of ethnicity is somewhat arbitrary. The ethno-nationalist purists themselves will have to draw an arbitrary judgement as to what makes someone ethnically English too. Is it based purely on family ancestry or DNA analysis? In both cases is it a percentage game? And then, beyond all that, there is the central thing which matters above all else… cultural behaviours and values.

Calling everyone you disagree with “far right” has destroyed the meaning of the term. I’m sick of seeing serious labels abused to smear ordinary people with legitimate concerns. In 2015, before Brexit, over 50% of the country was concerned about immigration. Does that make half the country “far right”? Throwing these labels around is reckless, dishonest, and damaging to public debate.
