@dbabbitt Donald Hoffman’s Fitness Beats Truth theory relates to this. Basically we see 0% of objective reality, but what is useful is more important than what is actually true… I think evolution itself is a bad model ultimately, but it has proven to be seemingly useful for us.

if you look at evolution as just consciousness literally using every resource available to it to “level up”... reality begins to look isomorphic to video games...

@NickHintonn great thread! one thing I believe would be worthwhile to dig deeper into is the schism of 1054 between Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Feel like this “Spirit of Rome”’s influence was impacting the church then even prior to the 1500s, so would be interesting to get some of that context

I don't want to participate in any of this anymore. It's clear that only certain voices on this issue are being amplified and boosted for reach, and I don't think it's organic. We're being played on every front with non-linear psychological warfare, botnets, AI, military propaganda, agent provocateurs, and everything in between, and I don't want to be involved in any way. So now that we've all seen how easy it is for the MSM, Israel, US gov't, and every other entity involved to completely manufacture a false reality and fake a narrative, can we go back to trusting none of it again? You have no idea what is real, what is made by some state level AI lab, what videos or pictures are new or old and repurposed, what intelligence from the ground is from honest citizens or dishonest propagandists, or really anything else being delivered through official establishment channels or influencers. It could all be entirely fake and you have no way of knowing, meaning you have to place trust somewhere, often with an influencer. I think we're all being intentionally setup with false stories and propaganda to discredit and fight with each other, further distracting us from the broader correct perspective on authority/government/etc and dividing and conquering people who were once unified against them. It's clear that people aren't interested in my perspective on any of this insanity, or the AI algo doesn't like my posts because they get 0 reach, so I don't see the point in wasting my effort trying to get people to see how contrived and manufactured it all is. Back to talking about every other which way they are trying to destroy your mind, poison your health, castrate your fertility, and capture your soul.

You may have seen my recent activity here concerning the intellectual and social lineage of Marxism and inferred that I'm more "right wing" than you once believed. From my perspective, I don't feel a need to associate with any political movement or low-dimensional alignment in order to reject an ideological lineage that I perceive as something akin to a well-camouflaged death cult––a death cult that as evolved and adapted to parasitize the most dangerous tribal tendencies of the human mind while claiming it's always operating in the name of the oppressed. This goes far deeper than politics. It concerns the fundamental phenomenological frame one applies to the world, and one's most foundational models. Do we live within a game that's fundamentally zero sum, or one that allows for humans––even those who once despised, killed, and abused one another's ancestors––to cooperate in service of positive sum outcomes while acknowledging and persevering through the often maddening constraints of our world? Marx erected his church upon the zero-sum axiom, and those who worship at its altar (knowingly or otherwise) will eventually and always come to reflect and act upon those same foundational axioms of zero-sum relation. Ironically, though, most who unknowingly worship at said altar do so because they're attracted by Marxism's ideological promise that––like the warm glow in the darkness of an anglerfish's lure––all (remaining) can have precisely that which they most lack, if only each is willing to commit a bit of violence against a designated out-group along the way. This lure now dangles from essentially all activist groups on college campuses, in workplaces, and in our streets. It's a trivial exercise to trace such groups' intellectual heritage back to Marx, for the genuinely curious. Such promises mark a fallen faith, if ever one existed. Their acceptance indicates a culture has lost confidence in its capacity to pragmatically realize a better future, and has gone catabolic. They constitute a philosophy of nihilism, dressed in the clothing of utopianism, that whispers in every ear that will listen: "who knows what the future holds? It's time to get yours." I have equally strong reservations concerning other info-hazardous philosophies, such as Gentile's fascism and its lineage. But I do not see those philosophies openly and proudly puppeteering millions of young minds across my nation––minds with whom I must eventually try to co-operate toward shared goals––such that they consistently participate in resentful violence in the name of realizing their utopia. And all the while these descendants of Marx remain shielded by the cynical approval of mainstream institutions who calculate that such violence is to their short-term political advantage. And so I attempt to communicate these patterns to those who will listen, within a window in which we can more clearly view the consequences of treating an ideological parasite that would gladly drain the life from us all as if it were a mere faulty tool wielded in well-meaning service of nice-sounding abstractions. Two generations of passively accepting this delusion and its cultural artifacts has brought us to an inflection point––we likely cannot afford a third. This is the de-programming our culture needs. But it won't work unless performed voluntarily, alongside honest reflection upon the fruits this ideological tree has borne, and while keeping in mind that we can retain the goal of positive sum orientation while thoroughly rejecting an ideological lineage forged in the flames of resentment.

Important point concerning the cognitive flatland impressed upon us by our perceptual flatland. That said, I'd like to see the trend toward augmented perception lean AR, given AR retains a fundamentally integrative relation with first-order reality, as opposed to the fundamentally dissociative relation of VR. (Yes, I understand VR *can* enhance one's embodied relation to the world. But I don't believe will *tend* to, as it saturates our phenomenological landscape)

Santa is actually St. Nicholas. We know saints have had the power of bilocation. Once, we have bilocation, there is nothing to stop trilocation, quadlocation or billion-location. So Santa can simultaneously deliver many presents.
