The violent scenes we saw in Edgware Road last night were completely unacceptable and my thoughts are with the injured police officer. There is no place for disorder like this on our streets, which endangered officers and members of the public. Four arrests have been made and the police will be reviewing CCTV footage to identify those involved in criminality and bring them to justice.

Argh! I just cocked up with a spam/scam call. My mobile rang, a number I didn't recognise. I answered. An obviously automated female voice said "I want to talk to you about work. Please add me on What's App." Then rang off. As I answered, they'll now have logged that my number is real. So I (& anyone else who's done the same) now need be vigilant for a wave of spam messages and calls coming my way.

A halal slaughter is a horrifically cruel and painful way for an animal to die - that brutal suffering is simply not justified. Animal welfare must overrule halal slaughter. In my view, as a farmer, animals must be slaughtered as humanely as possible, without unnecessary pain.
