We call ourselves “Black” because the West once needed a colour to explain control. But Africa never needed that word. Before colonisation, there were nations, languages, empires, systems - not colours. “Black” was never our name; it was a label that made us legible to someone else’s hierarchy. Reclaiming it gave us strength for a time. But holding on to it forever keeps us in the same frame that defined us by contrast. The next evolution isn’t being Black with pride. I was just on the Easyjet EZY8084 from Palma to Gatwick. Once we got on board we got an air traffic delay. The captain came out and explained the situation and invited anyone with children who wanted to use the 45 minutes delay to come and visit the cockpit. Once we took off there was medical emergency which meant half the cabin were occupied dealing with the situation. The remaining crew managed to deal with everyone else with good humour and all the passengers seemed to act with respect and patience. When we landed the captain explained that the medical emergency would be dealt with at the front and asked passengers to disembark through tje rear row by row. I just wanted to say this was the perfect example of how to manage a situation and I wanted to congratulate the captain and the crew because it could not have been handled better.

Agree,great feature. But…you used to be able to preset the temperature of the cabin on schedule so it’s always at the same temp. For some reason @Tesla ditched this feature & now the scheduled preheat is whatever temp you had your car in when you last left it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Kawasaki Unveils CORLEO: A Hydrogen-Powered Robotic Horse for the Future of Mobility — On April 5, 2025, Kawasaki Heavy Industries introduced the CORLEO, a groundbreaking hydrogen-powered, four-legged robotic vehicle designed for human riders, at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. This innovative robotic with motorcycle engineering, aims to redefine off-road mobility while prioritizing sustainability. The CORLEO is powered by a 150cc 20 horsepower hydrogen engine that generates electricity to drive motors in each of its four legs. Hydrogen is supplied from a rear-mounted canister with a distance projection of ~150 miles. Each leg features two separate rubber hooves, designed to absorb uneven terrain and provide non-slip stability on surfaces like grass, gravel, and rocky paths. The rear legs move independently from the front, absorbing shocks during walking or running, while the rider maintains a forward-leaning posture for better visibility when navigating obstacles like steps. Riders control the CORLEO by shifting their center of gravity, detected through sensors in the footpegs and handlebars. The stirrups are adjustable for optimal positioning, and an onboard display provides real-time navigation and posture feedback, making the ride intuitive and user-friendly. This design not only caters to thrill-seekers but also holds potential for accessibility, offering a new mobility solution for individuals with disabilities. The CORLEO draws inspiration from sci-fi concepts like the "Mechanical Horse," a trope seen in media such as Mazinger Z and Star Wars (e.g., General Grievous' Tsmeu-6 Bike). However, Kawasaki's creation is grounded in practical innovation, aiming to combine the charm of equestrian activities with cutting-edge technology.
