I had a dream last night that Michael Crichton was still alive and he wrote a book called “Two Weeks to Stop the Spread.” The book’s main character was a megalomaniacal, narcissistic senior US health official who was using NIH funds to work with China to engineer a virus designed to wipe out the world’s elderly and infirm populations, thereby decreasing the public health and expense burden foisted on younger generations. Other main characters included a wildly popular, populist US President who was destroying the trade imbalance with China and revitalizing the US economy (and who was running for a second term), a shadowy mastermind in the Chinese Communist Party, a secret cabal of major US news network executives and a consortium of US state governors from large, Democrat states. The shadowy Chinese figure determined that releasing the virus into the wild would devastate the world economy, thus making the US President’s re-election unlikely (in favor of a dim-witted candidate whom China had been blackmailing for decades). The shadowy Chinese figure called a meeting with the US network heads and the Democrat state governors where they agreed to wildly overstate the threat of this new virus, effectively grinding the US and world economies to a halt so that the 90 IQ, blackmailed Presidential candidate of choice could gain the Oval Office. The story is told in the form of diary entries by the megalomaniacal, narcissistic senior US health official who lays out the whole plot from start to finish while constantly basking in the glow the network executives created for him. The story has one hero, an enterprising and honest physician who constantly speaks out about the actual origins and effects of the virus, only to find his professional and personal lives destroyed for speaking truth. Years later the megalomaniacal, narcissistic senior US health official’s diary becomes public, vindicating the enterprising and honest physician, except nobody apologizes to him or gives him his life back. In my dream, nobody would publish the book, even though Michael Crichton was the author, because the story was too far-fetched and unbelievable. Then I woke up.

This should trigger a parliamentary investigation. But as intended, you're watching the stagecraft/theater called "Elbows Up". Canada's constitutional framework is clear: Parliament, not Cabinet, controls the public purse. Responsible government depends on Parliament having the information required to scrutinize spending, assess liabilities and risk, and hold ministers/government to account. If the Liberals are announcing tens of billions in new commitments while refusing to provide a transparent fiscal framework showing where the money comes from -what has been reallocated, what has been borrowed, and what liabilities have been created, Parliament can't perform its constitutional function. Then add on the Trudeau-Carney consistent pattern of sidelining, replacing, or diminishing independent voices and institutions whose job is to challenge government assumptions from fiscal oversight to budgets. Canadians and Canada's media need to be alarmed when independent expertise is weakened while financial transparency and integrity declines. That's not just bad budgeting. It's a breakdown in constitutional accountability and lack of transparency, accountability is why Canada is in one of the worst economic situations in our modern history. When respected economists, including people who have worked on federal budgets since the 1970s, say they've never seen this level of fiscal opacity, every parliamentarian and Canadian should stand up and pay attention. The Parliamentary Budget Officer, #PBO the Auditor General, and the Public Accounts Committee have a constitutional duty to determine whether Parliament is being denied the financial information required to exercise its authority over the public purse. If that's occurring, this is no longer a matter of poor governance but its a direct challenge to responsible government and our democracy. #cdnpoli #economy #constitution

Our Government purchased a product where in the very supply agreement it was stated that the manufacturer had no idea what the term side effects were, it wasn’t tested for efficacy & the adverse reactions were not currently known. A product like this should never have been mandated to anyone. They were willing to use your children as guinea pigs. Ghouls, all of them.

I worked for an exceptional leader of an Ontario political party in the 70’s. He would have made a fabulous premier (similar role to governor). His problem was his MPPs (Member of Provincial Parliament) were quite happy to sit on committees and do as little as possible to earn their keep. Far too many of them had no desire to form the government… and so they didn’t. These were Liberals and the ruling party were Conservatives. Politics attracts far too many lazy people. The brand doesn’t matter.

Crazy that Canadian Liberals will attack Loblaws for price-fixing and a 4% profit margin but defend the dumping of 1 billion liters of milk /yr (it cant even be donated!), $30,000 milking licenses, effective import bans and the complete CAPTIVE dairy market in Canada.
