@kentcdodds ORM’s create a low bar to entry. Which is great for new engineers. But I would also encourage them to spend time learning SQL to gain that understanding of what’s happening under the hood.

@HugeLeters @douglance @wesbos It’s a boxed value object which contains a map and a flatten (aka flatMap) method. The function passed to the flatMap should also return a monad. I believe it should also have a map method as a monad is a type of endofunctor. I’ve only been learning FP a few months.

@kentcdodds I find large inline types hard to read so generally only use them if they are short. Prefer to export the type prefixed with the component name e.g. export type MyButtonProps = { … }

@ryanflorence I generally dislike useEffect these days - useEvent seemed like a solution, but seems like a long way from landing. We often have to assign to refs to give handlers stable identities. Otherwise we end up with dependency arrays that cause more issues than they solve.
