The Political Bureau of the Amal Movement issued the following statement: After reviewing the content of the agreement signed yesterday between the Israeli enemy and Lebanon, and reiterating its position rejecting direct negotiations with the enemy and adhering to international legitimacy resolutions, the Amal Movement considers this agreement unbalanced. Most of its provisions consolidate the enemy's interests at the expense of national interests and pose political and sovereignty risks. It is unacceptable because it does not constitute a basis for a fair agreement that preserves Lebanon's rights and protects its sovereignty and institutions. The movement reiterates its following principles: - First, demanding the enemy's full and comprehensive withdrawal from all Lebanese territories it occupied up to the internationally recognized borders. - Deploying the Lebanese army and fully exercising its authority and role, thereby strengthening the state's authority and legitimacy. - Returning residents to all their villages and towns and immediately embarking on a reconstruction plan and securing infrastructure. - Continuing indirect negotiations to resolve outstanding issues, establish internationally recognized borders, return prisoners, and adopt the mechanism stipulated in the November 2024 agreement. - The Amal Movement believes that any agreement that does not depart from these principles and does not fully guarantee their implementation remains unacceptable and fails to achieve sovereignty, security, or stability. The statement concluded: The movement calls on all Lebanese to maintain the highest degree of awareness and national unity and not to be drawn into the enemy's projects of internal strife, as Lebanese unity remains the impenetrable barrier against any threats to the homeland.
