You probably knew that @UW_Football is ranked 5th nationally, but @CWUFB has stepped into 24th on the Division II Coaches poll and @WhitworthFB is unofficially 26th on the Division III Coaches poll. (The poll only goes to 25 but the Pirates have the next most votes.) Very cool.

Dolph Lundgren (the biggest guy in the photo) is 66 today. He was born in Sweden, so what's his connection to Washington? Ten years before he hit it big in movies, he studied chemical engineering at WSU! Yes, he was a Coug, 1975-76. He was in the marching band, too.

This week's book is only 38 pages and tells the macabre tale of murder in pre-WWII Clallam County. The body became saponified (i.e., flesh turned soap-like) in Lake Crescent, making the story stranger than most, but also helping authorities solve the crime. Published in 2000.
