@goodreads Just read the new Robert Galbraith, The Hallmarked Man. The Cormoran Strike books always make me feel like I'm in that world, and it makes me sad to leave it when I'm done. I keep thinking about the characters for days afterwards.

Ok librarian friends I need help finding a book. It's prob Christopher Pike but I'm not sure. All I remember is a girl supposedly dies in a fire but her boyfriend realizes it wasn't really her because the emerald ring found on the body would have melted in the fire. Any clues?

I feel like a bad librarian sometimes, but customer service is not my primary goal. Learning is the goal, and libraries have a role there, but it doesn't have to be "give everyone everything they want." We have a responsibility to be good stewards of resources.

A lot of librarians say academic libraries need to satisfy user expectations to be successful. I want to push back on that. Sometimes users expect things that are unreasonable or too costly. Trying to meet expectations drains us and doesn't necessarily support learning.

@lucasjmaxwell I'm not sure how I feel about this TBH. For one thing, I can't possibly know the content of every book in my library so if I don't give a content warning am I a bad librarian? I also tend to avoid commenting on what people are reading because it's none of my business.
