The drone attack on Moscow this week was a major blow to the city. Ukraine is making this war impossible for Russians to ignore. Make the airports close. Make fuel harder to get. Hit the economy. Hit the energy system. Make everyday life uncomfortable enough that people start asking whether chasing an imperial dream and trying to revive old maps is actually worth it. Ukrainian strikes have already knocked out refinery capacity, pushed up fuel prices and caused shortages across parts of Russia. For years, Putin has been able to wage this war while keeping much of Moscow feeling strangely distant from it. That distance is disappearing. The smoke is now over the capital, the refinery is damaged, and the consequences of the war are becoming much harder to keep on the other side of the border. Whether that eventually changes Russia’s appetite for the war is the huge question. But that is what this calculation is. Don’t just destroy the weapons. Make the reason for building them feel like it isn’t worth the price.

The United States has officially invited Putin to the G20 summit in Miami, set for December. "We believe this is an opportunity for Putin to engage not only with President Trump, but also with other world leaders. We hope that's an invitation he'll accept," Marco Rubio said.

Krym nesmí zmizet z naší pozornosti jen proto, že svět dnes čelí i dalším krizím. Ruská okupace trvá a spolu s ní i porušování práv lidí, kteří tam žijí. Věřím, že o míru nelze mluvit bez odpovědnosti za zločiny spáchané během okupace. Na summitu Krymské platformy jsem také připomněl, že mír nemůže stát na uznání území zabraného silou. Česko nadále stojí za Ukrajinou a za principem, že agrese nesmí být odměněna.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese @AlboMP and I signed a bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and Australia, opening up even more opportunities to deepen our partnership. Today, Australia also announced a new $60 million defense contribution for energy, protective equipment, and humanitarian assistance. I thanked the Prime Minister for this important support and assured him that Ukraine, in return, is ready to share our experience and technologies. Naval drones, ground platforms, and AI-powered systems – all of these go far beyond purely combat applications and can significantly strengthen national security. We agreed that our teams will work on preparing a Drone Deal. Australia has also introduced a new sanctions package targeting Russia’s accomplices and shadow fleet vessels. This is a very appropriate signal at a time when there are attempts in Europe to remove Putin’s oligarchs from sanctions lists. I thank the Prime Minister, the Government, and all of Australia for their unwavering support!

I thanked Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi @takaichi_sanae during our meeting for Japan’s strong support throughout all these years of Russia’s war – energy support packages, sanctions decisions, and humanitarian projects. It was also very important to hear that this assistance will continue. We discussed areas where we can help each other. Of course, Ukraine is ready to share its experience and technologies on a mutually beneficial basis. Japan also has advanced technologies for protecting lives, particularly in air defense, that could help Ukraine get through next winter if Russia once again spurns negotiations. I invited the Prime Minister to visit Ukraine, including the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which Japan helped restore after a brutal Russian drone strike. We call on Russia to finally do the same. Ukraine wants peace. We want peace. Russia must stop its aggression, accept a ceasefire, and engage meaningfully in negotiations towards a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with international law.
