Been less active on here, and been lurking for a bit still, but when Elmo starts Nazi dogwhistling, I'm out. Find me over in wooly elephant land @[email protected] ( hachyderm.io/@madlep ) 🫡

@t3dotgg Other downside: LAX, but that’s not particular to that situation

@t3dotgg Protip: best time to travel long haul - at the start of covid outbreak. Flew Melbourne -> LA return in January 2020. Had entire row to myself on every leg. Would recommend. 👍 Downside is possibility of being locked out of your country and unable to return home for months. 🤷‍♂️

@SergiiKirianov @t3dotgg Put mic of device. Play inverse waveform of the sound picked up to cancel it. Lower freq sounds (jet engines) have a long wavelength, so distance between the mic and ears is insignificant. High pitch sounds (babies) have smaller wavelength, so they don’t even try, as adds noise

@BeamItRec @josevalim MYTH: Greek mythology and Elixir are both big on killing misbehaving children. Yeah, this one is actually true. #MyElixirStatus

@BeamItRec MYTH: Elixir was brought to the gods in Olympus by doves and served either by Hebe or by Ganymede at the heavenly feast. FACT: @josevalim brought Elixir. It’s served by hex.pm or GitHub. #MyElixirStatus

I'll save you from giving Uncle b*b money. You don't need to know category theory for functional programming (I don't, and I've been doing this full time for 6 years). There isn't a lot to it --it's a few ideas that have large consequences. Understand the ideas.

@ThePrimeagen Yup. I miss the option and being able to mix it up. WFH all day every gets old after a while, and *some* human contact with coworkers is nice. One day/week WFO is good. Current HQ is 1000km away, and team spread over 5 time zones, so not going to happen.

Got my Mastodon escape pod lined up over at @[email protected] in case Space Karen crashes this site harder than a Starship test flight running Tesla self driving software.
