At the Shabbat service at Hostages Square today, captivity survivor Agam Berger played the song of prayer and hope "Home” (HaBaiyta). The same song that has accompanied the families of the hostages for 833 long days. Together with the family of Ran Gvili, the last hostage remaining in Hamas captivity in Gaza, captivity survivors, hostage families and the big crowd at the square called for Rani's return. On my “crocodile tears“. Let me be clear. I wept with the Jews on October 7. Then I wept with the Alawites. With the Christians. With the Druze. And now—with the Kurds. So why not with Gaza? Because I already did while idiots celebrated. On October 7, my tears were not only for Israelis butchered in their homes. They were also for the helpless mothers in Gaza—women who did not choose Hamas, did not choose war, and cannot bear to see their children homeless, let alone mutilated or dead. But for Gaza as a cause—for the frenzy, the obsession, the moral extortion—I will not cry in sympathy. Only in frustration. Any decent human being aches at the sight of devastation. Any decent human being should want to help the innocent. I do my part by trying to free the helpless in Gaza from the Palestinian cause, from a fantasy that has brought nothing to the Arabs of Palestine, or to the region, except war, poverty, sorrow, and chaos. I do not care for Palestine as a project. That project is not mine. I care about decent people— people who protect their children instead of sacrificing them for slogans. People who stand by their friends and allies instead of betraying them when it becomes inconvenient. People who do not place ideology above human life. Ask yourself: When have Jews sacrificed their children to gain sympathy? When have Druze done so? When have Kurds done so? When have they turned their guns inward—slaughtering their own—to impose a vision? You may find an exception here or there. But among them, it is the exception. Among Palestinians—and among Islamists—it is the rule. And no, this is not “lumping Palestinians and Islamists together.” It is naming the truth they refuse to confront. The so-called Palestinian cause is not a liberation movement. It is the malformed offspring of pan-Arabism, pan-Islamism, communism, fascism, and antisemitism— an ideology that consumes its own people and demands endless blood to justify its own failure. He did everything to protect her, but she died of her wounds at the hospital. They shared that Matilda's younger sister is deeply traumatized by her sister's murder. “She is angry with those boys who did that, and she keeps asking, ‘Why did they do that?’” We can't forget any of the victims from Bondi. This is Omer (2 years old) and his twin sisters Arbel and Shahar (5 and a half) Siman Tov. They were burned alive by Hamas on Oct 7th. Both parents, Johnny and Tamar were killed too. “They’re here, they’re burning us” - one of Johnny’s last texts to his sister Ranae. Their grandmother, Carol Siman Tov was also executed in her own home that day too. Just in case you forgot why Israel is fighting this war.

Dan Elkayam, 27, was tragically killed last week in the Chanukah Massacre at Bondi Beach. He leaves behind a loving family in France and his partner, Krystal, whom he met in Australia. She shared a beautiful tribute to Dan on Instagram: “Before our first date, I remember Dan asking me, "You're South American, right?" When I said I was Brazilian, he immediately asked if I played football. Sadly, I said no. He noticed the Star of David on my wrist and asked if I was Jewish. I said no. He didn't care, not even for a second. He took me for a walk around the city. We went from Haymarket all the way to Darling Harbour. We stopped for ice cream, shared pizza, and then went back to the hostel to drink some vodka he had kept. Our date lasted eight hours. It was our first real conversation entirely in English, maybe in our lives, and yet we understood each other perfectly. Effortlessly. At one point, still on that first date, he asked me, "Are you planning to travel around Australia?" I said yes, that I wanted to go to Thailand. He smiled and said, "Oh wow, l'm going too." Then he added, "What do you think about going to the Philippines together after Thailand? You're the kind of person l'd like to travel with." He said some word in French that he said means something like "you're easy-going." For the last two hours of our date, we stood talking to each other with barely five centimeters between us. So l kissed him, and later he took a photo of me, a photo I only saw once and that he never sent me. From that day on, we were everywhere in that hostel. We knew every corner, every hallway, every hidden spot. We were together at all hours, before and after work, before and after football. We started going to parties together and living the time of our lives. I thought I knew what happiness was... until I met Dan. ❤️ (This is our first photo together).”

Just wonderful news! Jack Hibbert, 22, the young hero @nswpolice officer, who was shot by the Bondi terrorists and lost vision in one eye, while trying to take them down and protect the families gathered, has been released from hospital. His colleague, Constable Scott Dyson was also injured in the attack and remains in hospital after waking from a coma on Tuesday.
