Onchain products are eating traditional finance from the inside. The prediction market thesis is winning. But here's the number nobody wants to talk about: a University of Toronto study found that 69% of Polymarket users lose money over time. The top 1% captures more than 76% of all profits. This is not a coincidence. It's structural. Prediction markets are not price action trading. You're not betting on whether a chart goes up or down. You're pricing the probability of a specific outcome by a specific date. That means you can be right about the direction and still lose, because timing, liquidity, and execution all have to align. Most retail users approach prediction markets the same way they approach a sports bet. Pick a side, wait, hope. Professional traders approach them the same way a market maker approaches an options book. They structure positions, hedge exposure, and extract edge from mispriced probabilities. The gap between these two approaches is where the 69% statistic lives. This is starting to change. New platforms are packaging structured strategies into simple products. Instead of manually building complex positions across multiple markets, users pick a directional view and the system constructs the underlying strategy automatically. Think of it as the difference between picking individual stocks and buying an index fund, but applied to prediction market outcomes. Some examples already shipping: directional bitcoin:native indices that let you express a market bias without managing individual positions. Strategy vaults that systematize recurring patterns around macro events. These are early, but the direction is clear. As prediction markets scale beyond crypto-native audiences, the edge will increasingly come from strategy allocation, not isolated event bets. That's actually good news for everyday users. It means the playing field can level, if the tools catch up. The dark forest of prediction markets is getting bigger. The question is whether you're walking in with a map or just a hunch.
