Again, convenient you use data that overestimates the number of working immigrants. Would use the data if it underestimates?

The 180k you see is the number of ALL H-4 visas granted that year, including: - Renewals (not a new immigrant) - Kids (not allowed to work) - Changed from another visa category (again, not a new immigrant) - H-4s without EAD

@VBierschwale @GokulP26637450 @StephenM You need approved i140 (can take years) to be eligible to apply for H-4 EAD, which can take up to an additional year. Also, only spouse can apply for EAD. So no, not every H-4 is “taking away your job” Ask ChatGPT how many work on H-4 EAD and it will reply with approx. 100,000

How about a better H-1b system so that we don’t have an alleged “90% thru fake resume and reference”. I’m an immigrant and I also don’t want scammers.

@Sarachin2019 @russ62960450 @War4theWest I am 100% with you to stop immigration fraud. I hate fake CVs & nepotism as much as you do. I hate the fact that people hate on H4 EAD because of bad actors. Let’s start with country caps for H1b because, sadly, majority of the scammers appear to be from one particular country.

@bbhatta11 @DeportHubUSA @WalkInVerse If your H4 employee “illegally” ran a business it means they didn’t have a proper work permit and you just admitted to committing immigration fraud by employing them. You should be investigated and fined.

@truthteller_x1 @SpeakSamuel True, not fair: - An H-1b comes with additional cost to the employer through legal fees - A nonimmigrant is discouraged to take benefits such as unemployment money at all if they ever want to apply for a greencard - An H4 spouse of an H-1b (by default) is not allowed to work

@AH96335103 @Cloudwatch199 Of course the total number is higher than 85k, nobody is “hiding” that. Maximum possible: 6x85k + anyone stuck waiting for GC + cap-exempt H1b (working for universities, non profits, hospitals) 500k is a more realistic number than 1M

@CubanCane04 @RobertMSterling 800k was applications entering the lottery - only 85k get selected randomly out of those 800k In FY24 you could still enter multiple times with job offers by different employers. This was heavily misused by Indian agencies that created fake jobs. This loophole was fixed in FY25
