🛢️ Everyone is focused on Iran’s money. Almost nobody is talking about the geology. If major Iranian oil fields are being forced into prolonged shut-ins, the real damage may be happening underground RIGHT NOW. And some of it may be irreversible. Here’s why this matters: ⚠️ Mature carbonate reservoirs don’t like being “paused.” When flow stops:
• water can invade oil zones
• waxes can solidify
• pressure can collapse
• corrosive gases attack well casings That means sanctions can evolve from:
💰 temporary financial pain into:
🪨 permanent reservoir impairment In other words: A blockade doesn’t need to bomb an oil field to damage it. The geology can do the destruction on its own. And the scariest part? If this is happening, the public won’t see it because the damage is occurring 2,000 meters underground. Financial systems recover.
