ALIEN Jung Hoseok⁷ ⊙⊝⊜ | @SierraNicoIe

Like I get it, Joon and Yoongi’s lyrics are more accessible for English speakers. Yoongi says exactly what he means very directly and Joon writes poetry so as long as you’ve spent some time in that world, his lyrics are really clear, too. Hobi, meanwhile, writes very abstractly. He uses the flexibility of the Korean language to write in something closer to word clouds than linear expressions. And he fills his lyrics with more wordplay than Joon even and a ton of references to history, pop culture, literature, foreign customs, economic theory, even his own discography. And then he gives context to help with interpretation through the production (P.O.P has a great example of this with a harmonic dissonance in the music that explains the lyrics about obstacles fading away) and through adlibs and sound effects in the track, too. That makes for an incredibly challenging translation task. I spend weeks with his lyrics reading several translations every time he drops something so I know and respect the brilliance and artistry there. If you read a lyric vid of a song and take it at face value and then think you understand one of Hoseok’s songs, that’s you doing the bare minimum. If you’re then using that intellectual laziness to make assumptions about the quality of Hoseok’s pen game, that’s on you. And I promise I’m going to make sure you know it’s a you problem and not a reflection of j-hope’s objective and outstanding lyrical talent. And every ARMY that contributes to narratives that diminish or make a joke out of Hoseok’s pen…you’re part of the problem and you are doing a huge disservice to one of BTS’ greatest and most original talents.

RM's weverse album is top-tier. Its not even about the tracks, although they're also really good, but the album itself. Its a "use me" type of album. Use art. If I could, I'd get many and use it everyday- as a postcard, bookmark, cover, sticker, decoration- anything really.

I do realize saying all this so publicly and with such tone cuts off bridges but love, u love oh so distantly with such selfishness. Disrespect? Cant be sorry coz I'm not in ur cult.
