In the first Thor, Darcy takes a phone photo of Thor grinning like an idiot outside the diner. That exact photo is the one Selvig later uses on a fake ID for him. Nobody clocked it for eight years it wasn't flagged until 2019.

@shdwcrw That's part of it, but Disney also seems to be focusing more on quality over quantity lately.

The Phoenix Force didn't just choose Jean Grey. The Phoenix saw Jean as the ideal host because she had the potential to control its immense power better than most beings. The connection became so strong that few knew they were the same.

Maybe a little part of what Doom is: think of him as a man with a genius-level intellect like Reed Richards, and also a master engineer like Iron Man, a skilled sorcerer like Doctor Strange, and hand-to-hand combat like Shang-Chi.

That could mean the MCU isn't creating mutants after the Multiverse Saga. It's simply revealing a part of Earth-616 that has always existed but remained out of the spotlight.

That's an interesting choice. If mutants had only just started appearing, you'd expect characters to question or investigate their existence. Instead, Marvel moves the story forward as if this world already has a history we're only beginning to see.

One conversation in Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have quietly changed how the MCU introduces mutants. The film never treats the existence of mutants as shocking or impossible. Instead, the story focuses on the people affected by them rather than explaining where they came from.

Emma Frost might appear to function as the sophisticated, slightly older mentor and someone who already understands the mutant world's dangers and politics, while the other team is still finding its footing.
