If you're building something, remember: ideas are easy, execution is hard, and consistency is harder still. The whole thing comes down to starting and refusing to stop. Most people quit right before it works.

makes no sense, who would eat there parking is a nightmare and if flying out, near gate (restaurant, lounges, anything) is far more convenient. hey let’s go early to lax to eat at a restaurant? ppl hate airports and traffic but it reminds me, in Asia there is a hidden burger spot in a government building complex where visa extensions are processed. parking was awful too, but because finding a burger was so hard it was worth the trip sometimes. thing is, la has great food everywhere but the state and city both have deteriorated so much la isn’t even talked about negatively much anymore, it’s just forgotten now. unfortunately really, but that’s what happens when you don’t treat your citizens well. they leave.

Ethereum as your economic home. L2s as execution deployments to access their users. If apps have to build and fund the development and bring the users and not get distribution why build on L2s? Just become your own institution on mainnet. If you’re not a chosen protocol, makes no sense. Dependent, loyal, aligned, for what? It reminds me of a labor movement, frankly. App builders deserve more from chains. I’ve seen it first hand from multiple chains over 5 years. Not one chain specifically. Heard similar stories from others often. Lot of smoke and not a lot of real support. Ethereum is credibly neutral. Often times when you’re building native on one L2, you lose an entire user audience because of that affiliation. Other chains don’t want to support a native “other” chain’s token. It’s political and obnoxious. Fortunately, culture has taken control of distribution from chains and exchanges, who typically have to support whatever gets attention and scales organically, because they’re competing with each other too, so apps now have more independence and another path to win, by winning culture. Gone are the days of trying to win the spotlight from a chain that has other priorities and can change them at will ofc, leaving builders and apps out to dry. All chains need to step it up. Especially considering L2s pay so little to Ethereum already. They’ve been having their cake and eating it too, for a long time. I’m excited for Boardwalk to be housed on Ethereum. We’ll be on Base, RH, and Arbitrum too for execution deployments. Not against L2s. But they come at a cost and for us, home on Ethereum feels right.

And by building on top of @Uniswap, we get distribution and uniswap is in “the money flow” of Boardwalk. Decentralized and immutably, too. Ethereum wins.

I’ve noticed some startups pivot away from markets that feel overly hot because they think the contrarian move is to go somewhere less crowded. But the real issue is not the market. It is that the team lacks the domain expertise needed to break through. That quickly turns into negative self talk The market is too hot. Every competitor is already doing it. There is no margin left. It is not technically possible. Then an extremely domain specific team enters the same market and figures out every problem the other teams could not solve. This is why domain expertise or passion matters so much when choosing a startup idea.

If you dig, you will find. The signs were there all along…
