Last night, I attended the SFUSD board meeting and delivered a clear message during public comment: keep our schools open, make them competitive again, and put an end to political maneuvering. Watch my full statement below:
Statement on recent pausing of school closures:
Over 300+ parents showed up to the Sutro Elementary town hall because they care deeply about the future of their schools. Parents from Yick Wo Elementary attended my press conference condemning school closures. These families deserve to have their voices heard in the conversation about closures. Are we truly listening to them? #SFUSD

Had a wonderful weekend campaigning at the Alemany Farmers Market and participating in the Italian Heritage Parade! I spoke to voters about keeping our schools open and getting #SFUSD headed back in the right direction!

Closing schools does not solve the fiscal crisis and only makes it worse. This will drive more families away from public schools.
