@bridgemindai I honestly can't believe I'm counting fable tokens yet again - probably for the last time because it is finally headed into sky-high API land. I'm supposed to stay with @AnthropicAI without their frontier model? Such a weird choice by them. Sol and Kimi are up.

@claudeai Does anyone understand what the heck they are doing? Losing Fable 5 will really hurt but me screwing my usage and tokens on projects that "maybe" needed Fable just to max out today, and now that was wasteful. @AnthropicAI just make this decision through 8/31 and let us cook.

@bridgemindai The problem simply may be @anthropicai doesn't have enough compute. The Fable weirdness forced me to try Codex 5.5 and it is very fast and sharp. And now 5.6 is out. Seems like @anthropicai is all in on enterprise and not the rest of us. They don't have the resources.

@ClaudeDevs Super glad you did it. TY. If you had done it 36 hours ago I would not have spent $100 in usage fees. Today I got a reset from 8% to zero - thanks but I really needed it when you re-opened Fable 5 when I had maxxed on purpose and was sitting at 99%.

@Conor_D_Dart I woke up hoping @AnthropicAI would do the right thing and reset usage so we all can use the fable extension. Nope, not yet. I think they are just all in for enterprise and we are out folks. Let’s hope ChatGPT 5.6 can deliver.

@varad_36 Used time machine to repopulate my conversations and custom groups in Mac Desktop App (I dislike terminal). It worked. Fable figured it out. Funny last use of Fable for me before the price skyrockets even more.

@fajeub thank you. We only have Fable 5 available at extremely expensive but NOT API rates, which are worse, for a few more hours. I guess we were all trying to use up our Fable 5 access and it busted. Anthropic - give us fable 5 for a few more days.

@claudeai I'm a solo user who lazily let my Max plan go to API after hitting 1 week limit. $220 of API charges hit before I knew it. Anthropic's AI chat assured me I was setup correctly. Brutal. And Fabel 5 is how much more expensive? Finally looking at local models. Brutal.

@claudeai Claude 4.8 - even in expensive "Fast" mode -- is slow, slow, slow Things are ten times (100x?) slower & getting plenty of things wrong. When I call out errors I get: "Sorry I was guessing, let me read our vault files." I'm like: what were you doing for the last 10 minutes?
