@HeatherReid4 @sarobertson_ I got an urgent next day appointment. Doctor suspected carotid plaque. Had sonar exam the next day, CT scan in three days, and carotid endarterectomy in two weeks. We paid for parking. The Canadian system can work. I had excellent care throughout.

@iwelsh My question is always, “How much money do you have left after you’ve paid your taxes.” If someone makes a million, pays 50% in taxes, they are left with 500,000, which is certainly enough for a comfortable life.

@furiadidonna @btcave1 I’m almost 80. If I sold my small 3 bedroom house, I couldn’t afford a condo in the city I live in, without a mortgage, which I am not in a position to do. And some of us oldies love our yards and gardens. And I have no objection to paying taxes.

@HotspurNL_CA @JackDan110 So true! I bought some grounds to make coffee at home and after one pot it all went into the compost. I even drink Nabob and Maxwell House, so am not a coffee snob.
