Michael Saylor sat down with two Bitcoin on the table and explained why the single piece of financial advice everyone gets is quietly making an entire generation poorer. The advice is buy a house. Get a job, get a mortgage, move in. Everyone leaving university is told this is how you build wealth. Saylor says for most people it does the opposite. His starting point is the dollar itself. He pulled out the deed to his own house on Miami Beach. The land sold for 10,000 dollars a hundred years ago. Today that same acre is worth 10 million. Same dirt. The only thing that changed was the money. That works out to the dollar losing about 7% of its value every year for 100 years straight. And that is the best currency in the world. Most countries lose 14% a year and collapse inside 30 years. The average fiat currency dies in 29 years. If you hold cash, the only real question is whether you lose most of it in 10 years or all of it in 30. So people are told to escape into a house. Saylor's problem with that is the math underneath it. Take a 7% mortgage, add property tax, add insurance, add maintenance, and the same house that was supposed to save you flips the other way. In his words, it crushes you to death. He is not against owning things. He is against owning the wrong things. Commercial real estate works because you pass the costs to tenants. The S&P works because it compounds. Gold holds. His point is simpler than Bitcoin evangelism. The average person should not have to become a tax expert, a real estate expert and a stock picker just to avoid going backwards. Then the line that reframes all of it. Don't invest in things a robot or a factory or an AI can make infinite of. Don't put your family's money in soybeans or oil or cotton. Buy the things that cannot be printed by the million. An ounce of gold. A share of the 500 best companies on earth. One of 21 million Bitcoin. The house you were told to buy was never the asset. The scarcity was.
