@MichaelMOTTCM People keep saying... "but, but, what can the Fed do"? The answer is simple. Sell MBS + work down the bal. sheet at the same pace you increased it in '20 (this would serve as a MUCH NEEDED bear steepener, & increase long-term rates). Oh... and don't bail out ANOTHER bank PERIOD.

So what that the FFR is 5.5% when the Fed threw $5tn, or 500yrs of bal sheet expansion, into risk assets over just ~1.5yrs, and REFUSES to remove it at the same pace it put it in! The money printing is the problem, NOT the rates. The @federalreserve/@SecYellen are actively encouraging banks to take reckless risk with the guarantee of a taxpayer-funded bailout should ANYTHING go wrong (see BTFP).
