I mostly choose Airbnbs for the location, unique home themes and staying with friends, we get to hang out and chat all night. I have had my fair share of bad experiences, but also got some of my best memories. - A house in Utah during Christmas with all the lights - Winter in Sun Valley with a lake behind the house.. I wanted to try fishing in winter. 🤣 - 4th July at a Coeur D Alene house with a nice jacuzzi to do BBQ and watch fireworks - Many nice Airbnbs in Gold Coast as well. Agree with the frustration on cleanliness and quality of home maintenance.. If they charge us for it, then I'm gonna expect some standards.

just a follow up to the above post cuz I think there might be a slight misunderstanding on what I meant.
Working from home is the best bet for work life balance and focus. Being in an office is just way too much of a distraction and most often the setups are not even ergonomic. Healthy food is also more expensive outside than preparing at home. With all that free time from not having to commute, you get to do more stuff that you love, choose to hang out with people that you like and want to spend time with. Cook for family and friends. Find new hobbies. Go travel and hang out with strangers. It will feel worse stuck in an office with people they can't wait to run away from at 6pm.
Agreed upon before you start work.. Set the expectations upright before signing any document. I'm very transparent with what my lifestyle is and what my commitments are. I don't ask for any outrageous stuff at all. Just proper rest and reasonable work allocation. Bear in mind I still mostly still follow thru what's asked of me. I did spend 14 months working till 2am and waking up at 7am 3 out of 5 days a week. I'm not a princess treatment worker, I'm just not paid enough to die over working for someone else. 😆
don't get me wrong.. there are offices I love too. previously worked in a place where we had 3 days office for meetings and 2 days home.. I loved that. even bought nerf guns to play when I needed a break from calls.. we often stayed till 11pm after work to have dinner and chat😆 I was refering to the article blaming WFH for causing isolation and distress. You can and should find other ways so socialise if you wfh. Clubs, communities, hobbies, sports. Its not WFH that causes isolation and distress, its people getting too lazy to go out that made them socially awkward and isolating even more.
thats why we need to set boundaries.. if its urgent or there's a timeline I need to follow, I still get it done.. but I'll also balance it with hours elsewhere to get my life together. in my previous company we had meetings till 2am because international team... I'll just take 2 hours in the morning to run my errands.. i just prefer this vs waking up, dressing up, and sitting in an office at 10am
true.. completely agree too, because working in an office with others did teach me alot about social interactions and team work / collaborating with other humans... if their only interaction is with family, it might bring out more social awkwardness and make interactions with other humans weird.
@alina_creates in terms of wellness and balance, its definitely the best because you can get alot of stuff done rolling out of bed and jumping straight into calls, while the pressure cooker makes your lunch.
