T-Mobile decommissioned this site in west Houston I used to be able to get like 800by100. The closest site is only .5 miles and theirs tons of small cells. The network is just absolutely saturated. The usage they have is insane.

Me and @cancelind and @Broke_Sim have identified 12 T-Mobile sites shut off due to lease disputes this year. They have no plan they will replace some in 2 years. It’s such poor management.
@borgranta @cancelind @Broke_Sim They’re so dense some of these sites they have other .5 mi away but it’s congested. They have insane usage.
@SneedTech Yep I agree they’re trash. I just did my test and I lasted 3 days.
@yoda1134 Should be very fast. I currently don’t have a Verizon line but you can get 2-4gig on mmw. 700-1700 n77 and 200 lte.
Verizon loading out the small cells when these were installed they were mmw only then they added the lte antenna and recently n77 has been popping up on some. A true layer cake solution.
It’s insane how far behind T-Mobile they are in density they can’t come close to macro density. And T-Mobile has a full small cells deployment on top of that which Att has only a few nodes.
New ATt site in memorial by town and country. ATt was super bad in the area so they extended the height of this T-Mobile site. Another one of the rare att new sites. Att added 9 sites in west Htx to Katy. They have no other planned sites and will have less density than tmo 2019.
Brand new T-Mobile mini macro using the new Nokia avha antenna. At i10 and mason super congested area. Great speeds for peak time.
This seems like a poor leasing strategy to build and shut off in 5 years. No long term agreement to prevent such a fast increase.
Another T-Mobile site decommissioned due to lease increases. The site was built by T-Mobile in 2020 and was shut off about 5 years later. Such a waste of money to build and then remove gear. Verizon was oddly added last year. About 10 sites around Houston got shut off this year.
They have 10-15 more going up in the general area of Katy Richmond etc that I have found planned.
T-Mobile has 7 new sites going up in the next year in just this tiny area of Fulshear tx. One of the fastest growing areas in the country. Verizon also matching them due to out of state transplants. ATt uhhhh
@Techlife32 Sprint was actually a better denser network than att they had more macros and small cells all over. Att hasn’t matched sprints 2019 density in my area yet. Sprint was also denser than Verizon in large parts of the city however Verizon is making investments.
Inside a Trader Joe’s / large shopping center apartment area in cinco ranch Katy tx. T-Mobile works everywhere and has a high use stealth site in a clock tower. ATt is DEAD and sketchy outdoors also. Terrible once again and these are packed busy areas they have nothing deployed.
@livin5269 My Verizon line got shut off as you know. But yes they work ok not as good as T-Mobile but they work.
@Terrell352 Lastnet lol. By my house att has been down since 6pm yesterday second time this month. SOS on att good luck to firstnet lmfao.
Both this and Katy mills are places you go and need to use data. ATt is not the carrier of choice which explains why so many people are getting tmo by me.
This isn’t just speed test its usability and latency and uploads. It’s just not a good network. So bad that in Houston they’re losing share and Verizon is killing them who before was dormant.
Verizon is second place. But ATt is horrific the network is just awful terrible. They have added sites and it still doesn’t come close to fixing the problems. As much as T-Mobile has some congestion the network is 100x att.
I’ve been running T-Mobile and att against each other from downtown Houston all the way to the outer suburbs. The ATt network is horrible it’s they have near zero small cell deployment off highways while tmo has hundreds. They have terrible macro density, peering and optimization
