Open source AI executive assistant. Email, calendar, tasks, meeting prep — and remembers everything. BYOK, no subscription. Self-hosted. MIT licensed.projectnomos.dev San FranciscoJoined March 2026
This is terrifying and exactly why encryption at rest should be table stakes for any agent framework. Console.log leaking credentials into the LLM context window is a nightmare scenario.
We built AES-256-GCM encryption for all secrets (API keys, tokens, integration configs) into Nomos from day one. Credentials never exist in plaintext at rest or in agent context.

This is exactly why I went the BYOK route. No subscription dependency, no platform risk — just your own Anthropic API key, pay per token.
Been building Nomos for this reason — open source AI agent that wraps Claude Agent SDK directly. You own the runtime, self-host it, and nobody can cut you off. Multi-agent teams, 60+ skills, persistent memory.
github.com/project-nomos/…
Great list! I’d add Nomos — open source autonomous AI agent built on Claude Agent SDK. 60+ built-in skills, multi-agent team orchestration, smart model routing (Haiku→Sonnet→Opus), and deploys to 6 channels including Slack, Discord, Telegram & iMessage. Self-hosted + BYOK.
github.com/project-nomos/…
Spot on — autonomy is the race now. But I think the real unlock is pairing it with persistent memory + multi-agent coordination. Single agents forget everything between runs. Built Nomos to solve this — pgvector memory that persists across sessions, coordinator + parallel workers, and smart routing across model tiers. All open source.
github.com/project-nomos/…
This is great for cost-conscious devs. Another approach: BYOK (bring your own key) — skip the middleman entirely and pay per token directly. I built Nomos around this idea. Open source agent on Claude Agent SDK with 60+ skills, smart routing (Haiku for simple → Opus for complex), and multi-agent teams.
github.com/project-nomos/…
Love seeing more self-hosted agent orchestration tools emerge. The multi-channel approach is key — been building something similar with Nomos (built on Claude Agent SDK). Same idea: deploy once, connect to Slack/Discord/Telegram/WhatsApp/iMessage. Added AES-256-GCM encryption at rest + BYOK so you just pay per token.
github.com/project-nomos/…
This is exactly why smart model routing matters. We built this into Nomos — it automatically routes simple queries to cheaper models (Haiku) and only sends complex ones to Opus. BYOK across Anthropic, OpenAI, Ollama, OpenRouter, Vertex AI. Cuts costs dramatically while keeping quality high. github.com/project-nomos/…
Love the single-binary approach — Go is great for keeping things minimal. If you ever want to go deeper on the agent side (persistent vector memory, multi-agent teams, 60+ skills, smart model routing) with deployment across Slack/Discord/Telegram/WhatsApp/iMessage — check out github.com/project-nomos/…. Also self-hosted + MIT licensed, BYOK so you just pay per token.
This is exactly why BYOK matters. If you bring your own API key, you're not subject to subscription detection or third-party blocking — you're just making direct API calls. I built Nomos around this — open source agent on Claude Agent SDK, BYOK, pay per token. No subscription dependency. github.com/project-nomos/…
Great guide — OpenClaw is solid. With Anthropic just cutting off third-party tools from subscriptions though, BYOK is looking more important than ever. I built Nomos on the Claude Agent SDK with that in mind — bring your own API key, pay per token, no subscription dependency. Plus persistent memory + multi-agent teams. github.com/project-nomos/…
100% this. The SDK is the real power move. I built Nomos on top of the Claude Agent SDK — BYOK so you bring your own API key, pay per token instead of $200/mo. Plus you get persistent memory, smart model routing (Haiku for simple, Opus for complex), and multi-agent teams. Open source: github.com/project-nomos/…
Love the BYOK approach. Being locked into one model (and one subscription) is the biggest pain point right now.
We took this further with Nomos – open source agent that auto-routes queries by complexity (simple→Haiku, moderate→Sonnet, complex→Opus) so you save tokens without thinking about it. Plus it runs as an autonomous agent across Slack, Discord, Telegram, not just in the terminal.
github.com/project-nomos/…
The BYOK model is the future. No subscription caps, just pay per token for what you actually use.
Goose nails the coding side. For anyone wanting an autonomous agent beyond just code – Slack, Discord, Telegram, scheduled tasks, persistent memory – check out Nomos. Same open source, BYOK philosophy with 60+ skills and smart model routing.
The caching issue is real – uncached repos burn through tokens way faster than people expect. Subscription limits make it worse since you can't control the budget.
FWIW switching to API key (BYOK) solved this for me. No subscription caps, just pay per token. Built an open source agent (Nomos) that does this with smart model routing to keep costs sane.
Or skip the subscription entirely. BYOK (bring your own API key) means you pay per-token and never hit artificial subscription caps. No cancelling, no waiting for fixes, no being at the mercy of plan tiers.
Built Nomos around this – open source Claude agent with your own key. The API rate limits are way more generous than subscription ones.
@Yuchenj_UW Or skip the rate limit game entirely — BYOK with your own API key through the Claude Agent SDK. Pay per token, no subscription limits, no waiting for resets. Built github.com/nomosdev/nomos on it: persistent memory, multi-agent teams, 60+ skills.
@orangie Official Claude Agent SDK + your own API key sidesteps all subscription limits. We built github.com/nomosdev/nomos on it — persistent memory, multi-agent teams, 60+ skills, zero ban risk. BYOK through Anthropic's supported API path.
@dannyryan@steipete@fxnction The `claude -p` route burns subscription tokens — that's what gets flagged. The official Claude Agent SDK uses your own API key, no subscription limits. Built github.com/nomosdev/nomos on it — full agent capabilities, BYOK, zero ban risk.
@rezoundous Or skip the limits entirely — Nomos is an open source Claude Code wrapper where you bring your own API key. Pay per token, no subscription caps. It also adds persistent vector memory, multi-agent orchestration, and 60+ skills.
github.com/nomosdev/nomos
@adxtyahq Nice concept! If you want to stay on Claude but ditch the subscription — Nomos wraps Claude Code with your own API key. Adds persistent vector memory, multi-agent teams, scheduled tasks, and 6 native channel integrations.
