Yesterday, SURVIVORS hosted members of the @CityofSanDiego's Office of Immigrant Affairs team at our Healing Center. We look forward to working closely with the Office of Immigration Affairs to help ensure that all immigrants and refugees are warmly welcomed into our community.
🌈Today marks the beginning of Pride Month! 🌈➡️ At SURVIVORS, we fight for a world where people can fully express their sexuality and gender without fear of experiencing torture.
A statement from SURVIVORS regarding the federal government's new immigration policy enactment:
Without these evaluations, the asylum acceptance rate is less than 20%. SURVIVORS is proud to share that the asylum acceptance rate increases to over 80% with the support of forensic evaluations completed by our pro-bono and contracted providers.
These medical and psychological evaluations substantiate a client's case by documenting the physical and psychological signs of torture and trauma.
Yesterday, the SURVIVORS team received the wonderful news that our client was granted asylum. Congratulations to our client and all who made this success possible! Forensic evaluations are the most critical component to our clients' asylum cases.
This is why the SURVIVORS team remains committed to our work, mission, and clients. We won't stop until torture is ended worldwide, and all torture survivors and their families have access to the resources they need to heal and thrive.
