I would also note, that every guy that he's dicked around like this has an agent that's pissed about how his client was treated. Those agents represent other players too. Perhaps, some players that the Mets want to target. This kind of obnoxious behavior is going to make it more difficult for them to sign players, and is going to ruin their reputation with the players. This is long-term franchise damage that will outlast Stearns by years.
