Unfortunately this NY Times article is showing exactly why the discourse has reached peak (and exhausting) temperatures while simultaneously asking for people "to chill all the way out" It spends multiple paragraphs detailing how the incident affected Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner, yet not a mention that Clark (who Ive also seen on the receiving end of extreme abuse online) missed the very next game or how the incident may have impacted her physically or mentally The issue isn't calling out the trolling, abuse and threats- its painting a picture of the situation as a whole through selective framing Telling SPORTS fans to "chill all the way out" and not acknowledging the patterns that got them there is not balanced reporting And for the record, it goes without saying that I (and no one really in their right mind) supports the extreme abuse and racially motivated statements made as a result of the incident nytimes.com/athletic/74146…
