You can’t become who you’re meant to be while holding onto everything that made you comfortable. At some point, growth requires a goodbye. Not because where you are is worthless. It served a purpose. But because your potential is too expensive to waste on things that no longer make you grow. There will come a time when you have to leave people, jobs, careers, habits, and old versions of yourself behind. Not out of ego. Out of alignment. Your mindset shifts. Your values shift. Your standards shift. And most of the time, the people around you won’t shift with you. The sign is not always misery. Sometimes it’s comfort. Predictability. No challenge. No expansion. The work may still matter. But if you’ve hit your ceiling, it’s time to step into something bigger. Growth is not just becoming more. Sometimes it’s leaving behind what can no longer hold who you are becoming.
