1. As a Christian church, we deeply believe the message of Jesus is LIFE, and that he rescues from death to life. So, we are both compassionately and passionately pro-life. And we are grateful for the millions of preborn babies that may experience life.
Compassionately & passionately pro-life! Here are a few thoughts, on behalf of Lifehouse Church, as we consider the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade (and handing the decision regarding abortion back to the states):
4. We are pro-life from womb to tomb. We support and care for women in a crisis pregnancy, for the babies that will be born into vulnerable situations, for children in foster and adoption services who need our love and compassion.
3. There are many that are confused, angry, reliving trauma from their past as they hear about this ruling on abortion. Please know that the church loves & cares about you. There is healing, forgiveness & hope through faith in Jesus & there is a loving community called the Church
2. Our response is and must be compassion and action. While our convictions are pro-life, so are our actions. We must be compassionate in how we both speak and act regarding these and all matters of Christian conviction. Let our words be filled with grace and truth.
Christians (& the Church), we are the best response of God to pain & need in the world around us. If Roe v Wade is overturned, we must step up to care & support women both in & after a crisis pregnancy AND get greater involved in foster & adoption care & support moms in need.
(2 of 2) AND Christians & the Church loving believe every preborn child is a precious gift of God that deserves life regardless of the circumstances around their conception or that they'll face after birth. Neither inconvenience or difficulty rob a baby of it's humanity.
(1 of 2) Christians & the church BOTH loving support & care for woman (who think abortion is their only choice or who carry the pain from choosing abortion) AND each baby born into this world. And be be ready to offer even greater support if Roe v Wade is overturned.
