@Bird442 @denkmit 10 years at PI as a spectator and the last 10 years as a race official, Iā€™ve also worked at Sepang as a race official since 2017. Go to Sepang, PI is an amazing track but the facilities are prehistoric and accommodation is limited/costly. Sepang has it all.

@denkmit Respectfully, my AU$0.02 counterpoint as someone who has designed hydraulic components for fighter aircraft. The device is not the problem, the failure mode is the problem; designing and implementing a solution without any plan for failure can lead to disaster.

@wearetherace When briefing the technical team (Australia), I make sure to half-jokingly tell them that if they get knocked down and killed in pitlane they wonā€™t be invited back next year. This year Iā€™ll add this scenario.

@phil_tutty @motomatters Yes, to be an FIM steward you need to be a national level steward in your country then do the FIM accreditation, in my experience this is usually 5-10 years of experience working at race meetings and I know some great stewards. Of course, some may get *ahem* fast-tracked ;)

@motomatters Have had frat hand experience of this running events, promoter paid % of the gate. There is no real correlation of the Official attendance Vs Actual attendance.
